Planning a Trip to Tulum?
Tulum has become increasingly popular in recent years, and with good reason. Laid-back, fashionable, and food-focused, Tulum has something for all travelers. You can plan to do nothing all day, lounging on the beach or by the pool, or you can dive in (literally) to the ocean and cenotes, bike the ruins, and eat everything from tacos, to vegan smoothie bowls, to fresh-caught whole fish. At ZAMAS, our goal is to help you create the perfect getaway, tailored to your wants and needs.
Tulum is a natural playground. With one of the world’s largest underground water systems, adventure abounds. Fresh or open water diving, snorkeling, and fishing tours are offered by the on-site PADI dive shop. There are dozens of cenotes in the area- from open swimming holes to the stalagtite and stalagmite-filled caves. The Sian Ka’an Reserve has premier fly-fishing as well as spectacular bird watching. There are many tours available to explore the flora and fauna of this gorgeous preserve. And during the summer months, swimming with whale sharks and turtles provides a special connection to nature.
Archeology is everywhere with four major Mayan ruin sites and many outcroppings in the area: Tulum, Cobá, Ek Balam, and Chichen Itza. The colonial town of Valladolid boasts old convents, an authentic mercado, quaint museums and cacao and perfumery boutiques. Mérida, the Spanish seat in Mexico, has wonderful architecture to explore, a vast food scene, and great antiques shopping.
Here at ZAMAS, we cater to the romantic, offering secluded beach picnics, offshore boat tours of the Tulum ruins and private terrace dinners. Feeling like you want to relax? We offer in-room spa services for those who want to hang out on campus. Nearby spas offer many treatments to delight the body and soul, including temazcal, the Mayan sweat lodge. If you’ve always wanted to have your chakras balanced or cards read, let us know and we’ll make it happen.
Feeling like working up a sweat? There are several beautiful studios in the area, both beashide and nestled into the jungle. We offer private yoga, Pilates, or personal training session on-site. Namaste!
